MLA O.P. Srivastava offers ₹6 lakh aid, seeks ₹50 lakh for Dalit youth's family

Following the tragic murder of a Dalit youth in Lucknow, MLA O.P. Srivastava has taken decisive action to support the victim's family. On October 14, 2024, Srivastava met with the family in the Gajraha Purwa area of Vikas Nagar, where he offered immediate financial support amounting to ₹6 lakh. This assistance included ₹1 lakh in cash handed directly to the deceased's wife, Roshni Gautam, along with a promise of an additional ₹5 lakh from his MLA fund.

Recognizing the need for further assistance, Srivastava has written to the Chief Minister, urging that the victim's family be granted an additional ₹50 lakh to help them through this devastating time. This plea highlights the ongoing need for financial support for families affected by such tragic incidents, especially within marginalized communities.

During a press conference, Srivastava did not hold back in his criticism of opposition parties, accusing them of exploiting the situation for political gain. He alleged that these parties were spreading confusion and misinformation regarding constitutional rights and the issue of reservations. Despite numerous political leaders visiting the family over the past few days, he pointed out that none had provided meaningful financial assistance, instead returning with empty promises and expressions of sympathy.

In his commitment to justice, MLA Srivastava assured the family that the BJP government would conduct a fair and impartial investigation into the murder of the Dalit youth. He emphasized that stringent actions would be taken against the perpetrators, stating, “We will ensure that justice is served, and no one will escape accountability.” The MLA's firm stance reflects the government's intent to address the growing concerns regarding violence against marginalized communities.

In addition to Srivastava, several BJP leaders joined him in supporting the victim's family during this difficult time. Councilor Rakesh Mishra, former councilor Narendra Devradi, and BJP leader Ashutosh Mishra were present at the meeting, expressing their condolences and assuring the family of their continued support.
